At Layered Domain, we strive to provide high-quality photography products, workshops, and services. We understand that sometimes a purchase may not meet your expectations or circumstances may change. This Refund Policy outlines when and how you can request a refund for different types of purchases made through our website or directly with our team.
By making a purchase with Layered Domain, you agree to this Refund Policy. Please read this document carefully before completing your purchase.
2. Photography Workshops
2.1 In-Person Workshops
For our in-person photography workshops, the following refund policy applies:
- Cancellation 30+ days before the workshop: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
- Cancellation 15-29 days before the workshop: 50% refund.
- Cancellation 14 days or less before the workshop: No refund, but you may transfer your registration to another person or apply the fee to a future workshop within 12 months (subject to availability).
2.2 Online Workshops and Webinars
For our online workshops and live webinars:
- Cancellation 7+ days before the online event: Full refund.
- Cancellation less than 7 days before the online event: 50% refund.
- After the event has started or been accessed: No refund.
2.3 Workshop Cancellation by Layered Domain
If we need to cancel a workshop due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, or other unforeseen circumstances:
- You will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
- Alternatively, you may transfer your registration to another workshop date or a different workshop.
Please note that Layered Domain is not responsible for any travel expenses, accommodations, or other costs you may incur in relation to a workshop that is canceled.
3. Digital Products
3.1 E-Books, Presets, and Downloadable Content
Due to the nature of digital products, all sales of e-books, presets, actions, and other downloadable content are final and non-refundable once the download link has been accessed. However, we consider exceptions in the following cases:
- If you experience technical issues that prevent you from accessing or using the digital product properly, please contact us within 7 days of purchase.
- If you purchased a product by mistake (wrong item), please contact us within 24 hours of purchase before downloading or accessing the content.
3.2 Online Courses
For pre-recorded online courses:
- Within 14 days of purchase: Full refund if less than 20% of the course content has been accessed.
- After 14 days or if more than 20% of the course has been accessed: No refund.
To request a refund for an online course, please provide details about why the course did not meet your expectations. This feedback helps us improve our offerings.
4. Photography Services
4.1 Session Deposits
For photography session bookings:
- Session deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable to another date if rescheduled at least 7 days in advance.
- If you need to reschedule due to illness, emergency, or severe weather conditions, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your situation.
4.2 Full Payment for Services
For fully paid photography services:
- Cancellation 14+ days before the scheduled session: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellation 7-13 days before the scheduled session: 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellation less than 7 days before the scheduled session: No refund.
5. Merchandise and Physical Products
For physical products such as printed photographs, books, or merchandise:
- Within 30 days of delivery: Full refund (including shipping costs) for products returned in original, unused condition.
- If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage for a replacement or refund.
- Custom-made or personalized products are non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or with production errors.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, product defect, etc.).
6. Subscription Services
For recurring subscription services:
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
- Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
- We do not provide partial refunds for unused portions of the current billing period.
- If you cancel within 7 days of starting a new subscription, you may request a full refund if you have not accessed or used the subscription benefits.

8. Exceptions to the Refund Policy
We understand that special circumstances may arise. We review refund requests outside of our standard policy on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions may be made for:
- Medical emergencies (with documentation)
- Family emergencies
- Natural disasters or severe weather conditions
- Technical issues on our end that prevent proper access to digital products
